SSC CHSL Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2017 Tier 1, 2, 3 (LDC DEO 10+2)

With the release of SSC CHSL 2017 notification, we've updated SSC CHSL syllabus & exam pattern 2017 for the post of DEO, LDC/JSA, PS/SA through SSC CHSL 2017 recruitment. The major change in exam pattern is time duration. SSC has reduced the time limit for SSC CHSLTier 1 from 75 minutes to 60 minutes, rest all are the same. Exam Pattern of SSC CHSL - Tier I, II, III

SSC CHSL Tier I Exam Pattern

The Tier-I paper will be objective type. There will be 100 questions for which Candidates will get 65 minutes.

These 100 questions mentioned in the above table will be based on the topics which are mentioned in the Syllabus.

SSC CHSL Tier II Exam Pattern

There will be a Descriptive Paper (1 Essay & 1 Letter) in SSC CHSL Tier II Exam. You can start your exam with any of the following sections given in the below table.

NOTE: For Visually Handicapped candidates of 40% and above visual disability and opting for SCRIBES there will be no questions of Maps/Graphs/Diagrams/Statistical Data.

SSC CHSL Skill Test/Typing Test

Skill Test (DEST) Pattern: It is of QUALIFYING nature. Candidates should possess Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on the computer. They will be given printed matter in English which they have to type on the computer. The test is for 15 minutes and candidates should have a minimum speed of 2000-2200 strokes/key-depressions in order to qualify. Also typing speed of MS office will also be tested.
Typing Test Pattern
Typing Test will be conducted only in English or Hindi and candidates while applying for the Examination will have to indicate his/her choice/option for Typing Test Medium in the Application Form.Candidates opting for English medium should have a typing speed of 35 words per minute and those opting for Hindi medium should have a typing speed of 30 words per minute. Corresponds to 10500 key depressions per hour and 30 wpm corresponds to 9000 key depressions per hour. The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the computer of a given text passage in 10 minutes. Visually Handicapped candidates (with 40% disability and above) will be allowed 30 minutes. In English, the passage to be typed in 10 minutes has 1750 key depressions and in Hindi, it has 900.

Selection Process of SSC CHSL 2017 Examination

  • The examination will consist of a Computer-based Written Examination (Tier-I).
  • Descriptive Paper (Tier-II).
  • Typing Test/Skill Test (Tier-III) (Qualifying).
